Finally!

So the pictures aren't great, and that sweet bookshelf doesn't belong, but here is the new paint in our room! I was so excited to feel like I am not living in a dorm anymore. The room hadn't been painted in like 13 yrs! It was time. I love it, it feels so fresh and clean. I am going to do a bit more decorating like adding in some accent color and drapes when the tax return money gets here!
On an updating note: We are busy, these girls and their playdates, school and energy keep us going. I was called in the Relief Society over Enrichment and Shon is still in scouts, so we are pretty busy.

So, I am fully aware that nobody reads these blogs anymore and I am even more aware that I am not a 16 year old girl, but here is my confession to anyone who is reading this. I am utterly obsessed with TVD, you have to be a true fan to even know what that means, but here is why:

I have been watching this show since it started and it just got better and better. It may have something to do with the high action plot lines, or this handsome fellow, Ian Somerhalder. He is pretty easy on the eyes.

So, I am in love with Pinterest lately and having it as an app on my iphone is seriously a problem! I may have to delete it because having it at my fingertips all day long is so bad. But I came across these photography blogs and articles teaching you how to use your camera etc. I have an okay camera, and I learned I actually have some of these features and was able to play around with the shutter speed etc. It was fun. You may not notice a difference, but I did! I feel like I got a new camera!

I can't believe December is already here! I am full on sick right now, and the weather was cold and windy today, just as things should be! I could hardly get out of bed today and get my kids off to school, then I came home, and have no recollection of making Addy pancakes, before her and I climbed into my bed for a small nap! It would have been the perfect day had I not been cold and achy and hacking up my lungs!

So I realized the other day that I haven't taken pictures of my gorgeous girls in a while, so here are some updates. Hailey is at the computer doing homework and is an amazing kid. Her BFF is Liberty and she is over here about once a week. McKenzie is loving kindergarten, finally and has these two girlfriends that she pals around with. Addy is loving the one on one Mommy time all day while her sisters are at school. She is a bit of a bully to her sisters though.

My blog has locked me out for the last several months not letting me post anything for some crazy reason, so I did make this Birthday Post for me sweet Peanut the day or two after her birthday, but it just got saved and never posted, It's not that I forgot this very important milestone! My First Born turns 7!

On July 9th 2004 at 1:11 am, I became a first time mom. I was scared, excited and already exhausted after pushing for 2 hours. But, Hailey Mckay entered the world and our lives and we have literally never been the same. I think Heavenly Father makes your first born very sweet and easy so you have more, at least that is what he did for me. Hailey was the easiest child, which I am sure means she will be a nightmare for us as a teenager. I love this kid more than I thought possible. She is a smart, sweet, responsible child. We are so lucky we get her. 7 years have gone by in a blink, but she has made it a pure joy. I love you Hailey, thanks for taking it easy on me and preparing me for your sisters!!

Summer so far . . .

Summer so far has been pretty uneventful, it has been filled with playing with neighborhood kids, swim lessons, and relaxing at home. Above was McKenzie's eye appt. She falls about 5 times a day and runs into various walls, door knobs and chairs, so her Dr. suggested we take her to the Childrens Eye Institute to rule that out. She is fine, a little far sided for a 5 year old, but nothing they want her to wear glasses for. Guess she is just clumsy!

Addy loves the water and never wanted to get out. Here she is swimming with her daddy on the 4th of July at a family party.

McKenzie stays pretty close to the edge and steps. Didn't learn much from swim lessons!

Summer has begun!

So far our summer days have been filled with dentist appointments, eye doctor appointments, birthday parties, a DMV visit and so forth. Not so fun, but we are hoping to improve this situation soon. As we drove home from one of these said appointments in Riverside yesterday, the girls were asking questions about my dad, so we made a stop at the cemetary on the way home. It was fun to tell them things about their grandpa that they don't know and teach them all about cemetaries.

My sweet, very strong spirited McKenzie is officially 5 today! We celebrated on Easter since we already had the family over, so here are just a few pictures. We love this kid, but we have no idea how she is becoming the little girl she is becoming. Very strong willed, and determined. She loves to push the buttons of her sisters! But she is also the funniest kid I know and loves her mom to no end! She is also the most shy kid in the world. I can't imagine her starting kindergarten in like 4 months!

So about 2 months ago, we had planned to go camping, but that weekend called for like 50 inches of rain, so we rescheduled for this past weekend. We barely missed the rain, but the cold was crazy. Seeing your breath in the tent all night long and wondering if all of your toes would still be attached to your feet in the morning, are not things I want to worry about!! The kids had tons of fun, but then again, they had all of the blankets we brought, and Shon and I had nothing but a sleeping bag in a 34 degree night. So glad we went though, great kick off to two weeks of SPRING BREAK! I feel like I am on vacation and I don't have to get up for school too! Cute sisters love each other, sometimes

A little Updating

So a little over a month ago, I picked Hailey up from school early and we met some family at Disneyland. It was fun, and a bit crowded. Here is Hailey with her cousin in line for Toy Story ride, which everyone loved. Taking 3 kids to Disneyland alone, wasn't that fun though. Not sure I will try that again soon!

So I made this little summer dress completely from one of Shon's old shirts! I found this website with a tutorial, and while there is no way my girls will wear it for real, it was fun and great practice for me. I am almost sewing in a straight line, almost! Here it is, the flower needs some attention, it just made out of extra scraps from the shirt I cut up and I had issues getting it to sit right. Hailey also is less than thrilled to model such a dress.

So lately I have had a strong desire to learn more about sewing, but don't have anything except black thread, white thread, and some elastic! (Along with a few other sewing necessities) So today, I found myself cutting up some old stuff, like this old skirt I only wore outside to sit in the sun in. I cut it up, and made a skirt for my Peanut. She loves it, even though I was too lazy to change the thread already in my machine, so it's white and looks horrid. The skirt otherwise is alright and Hailey was begging to wear it to school tomorrow.

So, this is the first kid to not dive into her very own cake and make a huge mess! My other two were covered in cake and frosting, so were all my nieces and nephews! Addy didn't touch the cake, didn't make a mess, and had to be fed her cake by fork!!

Where on earth has the last year gone. This is maybe the fastest any baby has ever grown! It sucks when it's your last and you realize, this is the last 1st birthday party I will ever throw! I love my sweet Addy more than the air I breathe. She has the best personality already. She gives me the biggest cheesiest smile to where her eyes are so squinted, she can hardly see, then the next minute she growls at me and points with her angry face. Pure joy and love.

Camping weekend!

So, my entire family was supposed to be camping right now, I am missing my campfire because of this rain! My girls were a little sad, so I talked Shon into setting up a tent inside for them to sleep in and have an indoor camp out! They were so excited and played in this all night, too bad it took up the entire family room, from wall to couch, to TV!

Seriously, I have some cute girls! These are the flannel PJ Pants I made for my girls. They are far from perfect, but I marveled tonight as they ran around the house in actual pants that I made!! I would do anything for these stinkin kids, including learn to sew, and for you guys that know me, knows that is HUGE!

So my adorable Addy is just one month from being 1 year!! I cannot wrap my head around how fast she is growing! She developed a cough on Wed. that sounded nasty, but then that night it got way worse. I took her in to the Dr. on Thurs morning and it sounded like Croup! Sucks. So they immediatly gave her a breathing treatment and a steroid shot, and prescribed steroids to clear it up! She was such a different kid for like 3 days! She is started to return to her happy self today. We stopped the steroids though because they kept her up allllllll night long. She was cranky and couldn't sleep, not fun for the parents! This is the breathing machine they left me to put on her alone, she fought me, I only won that battle about half the time.

So Hailey now has a sore throat and ear ache, so she may be headed to the Dr. tomorrow if the ear ache doesn't clear up. Otherwise, the Petersen clan is doing fantastic!

So this is my new toy and I love it. It was supposed to be a Christmas/Anniversary gift, but we are just now getting around to getting it. It's an HP Mini, so it's more the size of a large portable DVD player, but has the functions of a laptop. (at half the price of a laptop)

Happy New Year!! I can't believe it's 2011 already! Shon and I just celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary, of course he loves reminding me that if I had cooperated and married him the first time, it would have been our 12 yr anniversary. We are now back in the swing of things with school. The girls had 3 weeks off, and it was nice, but the fighting and them being so board had to come to an end! Here are a few pics, Addy is growing so fast! Her first birthday is in like 5 weeks!! She still refuses to hold her own bottle and it kills me, but she loves crawling around and chasing her big sisters!

6 Month check up!

Alot has changed in the last 6 months!! Addy is now over 20 lbs and just about 30 inches long. She is a big girl and likes to eat! She is also delicious and a joy in every way. I can't believe how much she has changed in the last 6 months.

In other news, McKenzie has started preschool and loves it. I can't believe she will be away from me voluntarily, but she seems to be doing fine. Today is only her second day there, and it's pretty nice to just have Addy for a few hours twice a week. I honestly don't know what I will do with myself once they both are in school all day! Addison will probably give me a run for my money by then!

So I tried this yesterday, sounded harmless enough. I should have known when in the directions it's warning you about the "odor". It worked well enough, I shampooed my hair again today and I still feel like I have product in my hair, but the odor was enough to choke a maget!! I wouldn't do it again, based on that alone! I couldn't take it, it was the most horrible thing you can imagine to smell, then times that by 100. I have never smelled anything so foul, and I have been changing diapers for 6 years!!!

So, I can't believe how fast this year is going and how fast my little baby is growing. I think I reflect on every little stage of hers way too much because it's my last little bundle of joy I will bring into this world! I am obsessed, but in fairness, I was totally obsessed with the other two before they could talk back and throw me attitude! Hailey is doing great in first grade and loves Math of all things. I hate it and pretty much still do. She was writing her name on her paper last night and spelled out September 1st! I was so proud. McKenzie starts preschool soon, and I think it will be a disaster for the first few weeks, but she needs it. Here are a few pics of my 6 MONTH OLD!!

So Hailey had her first day of school! She is a first grader going to school all day! It was crazy having her gone that long, but I am getting used to it. She loves it, thankfully! I was ready for the water works, but there were none! She has made 3 good friends that she loves and her only complaint is she hasn't gotten any homework yet! She made me make up some homework for her the first week.

Last Week of Summer!!!

So in this picture, McKenzie dressed and accessorized herself. It was cute. She has become quite the fashionista. I can't believe how fast this summer has gone!! What happened to the good ol days when you went back after Labor day??? Hailey starts school on the 11th, which only gives us 1 week of relaxation!! I am in a full blown panic with her starting first grade at a brand new school. I wish she wasn't so shy! Wish us luck!
Addy is being so good and so cute! We love her way too much. She is so mellow and good, which is a good thing, since I am breaking up fights between her older sisters all day long.

So here she is in all her glory! Apparently at the Pediatricians office yesterday, we learned that Addy is kinda a big girl. She is 18 lbs and about the size of a 7 month -12 month old. Yea, that is right, she is 4 months. I love every inch of those chubby thighs! They said her head is in the 95th percentile, but for Height and weight, she is off the charts. I am sure the growing will slow down soon. She is perfect in every way and just the best natured baby. She is so good and mellow.

Hailey McKay turned 6 today and will start 1st grade next month. I can't believe it. We love Hailey, obviously. She is our sweetest and most emotional! We went to Johns Incredible Pizza today so Hailey could ride the roller coaster, she loves it! We also learned that McKenzie has a new found talent for bowling, who would have thought? We will have a small get together here tomorrow with family, she can't wait. Happy Birthday Peanut! I love you and you have changed my life forever!

Carlsbad . . .

So we ended up in Carlsbad for the Fourth of July. Started out so fun and exciting to be away from home, but it was chilly and we were supposed to be at this fancy resort with a great pool and splash pad for the kids. We still went, but Hailey and Shon were about the only ones in our group to have fun! I stayed in a chair and fed Addy, but Hailey discovered she loves swimming, so that is good! We were only at the pool for maybe 30-40 min when we got a phone call that our dogs broke out of the yard on the 4th of July. They freaked out from the Fireworks next door and bolted! Needless to say, we packed up and headed home to search for them. My Coop was picked up by Murrieta PD and was safe and sound in an animal shelter, but we have yet to find my mom's dog. She is pretty little, pretty old, and pretty blind.

So we finally got around to blessing Addison. There have been multiple attempts, and lots of things came up. We just had a small group over to the house after church on Sunday and it was a lovely day.

Graduations, Hospitals, and Cereal!

I tried Addison on some rice cereal this week, it didn't go well. So far she isn't a fan. I have only tried twice and she has no idea of what to do with this stuff and the spoon. She is a work in progress. She is also getting huge!! We are in love with her every minute.

My little Peanut graduated from Kindergarten!!! I can't even believe it. The cute little Promotion ceremony was so fun and cute. She was very proud and so was I!!

The reason I mention hospitals in the title is because that is what Shon has been doing! His poor brother went into the hospital over 2 weeks ago and still hasn't come out! He has been sick for a long time, and was having a hard time breathing, this is a very long story, but they ended up putting him on a breathing machine and putting him OUT. He was in dream world for over 2 weeks on a machine breathing for him with 100% oxygen. He is off that machine now, thank goodness, but is being treated for something called Wegners Disease. He has had Chemo among tons of other treatments. Shon has been there everyday with him after work and on the weekends. We miss him around here, but hope and pray his brother comes home soon and is well!

Addison's 2 month check up!

Addison had her two month check up and shots last week. She did pretty good for getting 3 shots! Didn't cry too much. She is in the 90th percentile for height and weight, but a normal size noggin. 13 lbs 2 ounces of perfection. I am so in love with her and I am supposed to return to work in about 9 days!!! I don't even think that is possible!

So, my sweet little pistol turned 4 last week. We had quite the celebration over here, hotdogs and hamburgers tons of family and it was fun. She loved opening her gifts and was so excited for the whole thing. She is a firecracker, that is for sure, but it's never dull around here. She keeps up laughing with the stuff she comes up with. She graciously shared everything she got with her sister though, so she isn't all stinker! Happy Birthday Biddy!! We love you!

I don't know how I am supposed to go back to work! Look at this face!? I am so loving and enjoying being home right now. I know I took it for granted the whole time I got to stay home with my babies and it didn't matter weather or not you were showered and put make up on! I am staring down the barrel of only a couple of weeks left! What will I do!?? Any way, while I try and negotiate myself out of working ever again, here are some pictures I took of Addison this morning. She is fun, and continues to wake up around 2:30 or 3 am to see her mother and oh yea, eat!
Hailey is doing good, despite her trying to get out of going to school each day. She is so smart and LOVES homework, but isn't a fan of being dropped off at kindergarten! McKenzie is still a huge help and will start pre-school in August if I can get her to leave my side that is. Shon is doing good, working hard and going to school. He goes to Utah this weekend to pick up his mom and move her down here! Yea! He is also going to watch her graduate with her masters from BYU!! She is amazing and has accomplished so much, we are all so proud! I will miss his set of arms this weekend with the 3 girls on my own for 4 days! Lets hope I make it!

Yesterday was beautiful and my sister in law called us up to head to the beach, so we did and it was perfect. I took way too many pictures of my adorable niece and nephew so here they all are!

One Month Old Today!

We made it to four weeks! Addison is doing well and growing like a little weed.

So my brother just got married this past weekend in Utah. My husband couldn't go because of school and work, so I did the dumbest thing ever and packed my three kids up, including a newborn and hit the open road. 15 fwy North, Keep going straight until you want to kill yourself.
It wasn't fun by any means, and riding in the car with two kids that want to Pee every time they get a little bored and a newborn that literally eats every 2.5 hours then has to be burped, is totally crazy. I won't be doing that again anytime soon. But on a lighter note, the girls got to see and play in some snow for the first time ever. The sealing was in the Bountiful Temple and was absolutely amazing and touching. I am so glad I was there. I needed that eternal perspective on life as a reminder when I drove my "creations" home the next day. I, of course, forgot my camera for the joyous occasion, but trust me, it was beautiful!

Hailey lost another tooth yesterday, this was one of the big ones on top finally! She talks pretty cute now with a tiny lisp, it's funny. I make her say things with an S sound all the time. This is the 5th tooth she has lost in the last year! She is sooo stinkin smart it amazes me every single day. She loves reading and doing math at school. She tries to read everything she can and is always drawing, or writing at home. She has been a huge help to me in the last few weeks and I am so glad Hailey was sent to me first. She is a special kid!

McKenzie got to see the Dr. today too, she was an angel and this is her eating her reward, marshmallows. She is such a funny little girl and makes me laugh all the time with her faces and the things she says. What a personality this one has!

Addison made it two weeks old! We had a Dr. appt today and she is perfect, of course. Grew 2 whole inches and gained over a pound. She is such a good baby, I lucked out so far. Just wakes up for a very short time in the night twice to eat, but goes right back to bed. Today was the first day she was a bit fussy for no reason, but I will take it! The girls adore her and keep telling me she is the cutest baby they have ever seen. It is still a mystery as to who this little kid looks like. I see Hailey sometimes, but then I also see McKenzie every now and then too. It has been a challenging week carting three kids around and trying to get Hailey to school ontime, I will get used to it though.

So, little did I know that hours after my previous post, I would be going into the hospital to have this little bundle of joy. I posted Tuesday about my Dr. appt. and Tues. night at around 11:30, my water broke! I honestly was shocked and had nothing prepared. That same day, my mom had brought me some Newborn size diapers, I had no hospital bag packed, nothing together, it was crazy. So we went in, my contractions weren't very close together, so around 5 am, they started pitocin, then they kicked that up a notch, and all came crumbling down! I felt one long crazy contraction that wouldn't let up, and I instantly said, that isn't right. About 5 seconds later, a bunch of nurses came in and threw an oxygen mask on me and started rolling me around from side to side. I guess the heart beat up until now was around 140 and dropped to 60 for a while because of the pitocin. So they got her heart rate back up and took me off that junk, then at 8:12 am after 3 long pushes, there she was . . . . 8 lbs 2 ounces of sheer heaven. 20 1/2 inches long. Very light colored hair, dark gray blue eyes.

Hailey took this of me tonight, so we could all point and laugh at how huge I am. I had a Dr. appt today and I am dialated 3 cm. and 50 % effaced. I am so not ready for this, I don't remember being this nervous or apprehensive about giving birth the first two times! When I was pregnant with McKenzie I was begging the Dr. to strip my membranes and move things along as quick as possible, today I was just hoping they didn't shake anything loose to make this progress faster than it needs to!!! I feel like I am crossing my legs a bit more than usual if ya know what I mean. Any who, besides the normal aches and pains and mildly uncomfortable but totally irregular contractions, I am fine. I have lots of little items to buy this weekend so this little girls survives on the outside if she comes soon!!!

Mani/Pedi's

So Hailey and McKenzie got some nail polish for Valentines Day and Hailey then spent the entire day giving everyone who would sit still long enough Mani/Pedi's. Here it's McKenzie's turn! I got mine done and tried to remove it the other day because it's very, very glittery, and guess what?! It doesn't come off. So I got to work Monday night and tonight with loads of glitter on my nails. We are doing okay, otherwise. Hailey continues on her I Hate School kick, and is still crying when I leave. Today was a tiny bit better, but I don't know how much longer I can take it. I have had some crazy patience and I have just about reached my limit. It's been over a month that she has done this every day of school.
I don't know what is happening with Addison, I was supposed to have a Dr. appt. today to be "checked", but honestly didn't want to waste the 30 bucks on a copay to tell me what I already know. She isn't coming this week! So I cancelled that. I will hopefully keep my appt. next week to have an update! On a much happier note ~~~ Saturday is supposed to be my last day of work!!! (for maternity leave) I am so excited to have my evenings free and here with my family. Not to mention, my weekends again!

So I just picked up my camera, blew off the dust and looked at the last pictures that I took. They were from Christmas day. I guess I haven't been doing a great job lately! Me working is finally starting to slow down, and I only work this week and next before I start an early Maternity leave!! I have been dealing with a lot with the move and Hailey not taking it so well, still!! And I am growing by the minute! The general public cannot believe that I have another 4 weeks to go, and I literally get stopped by strangers asking about this curious human in my tummy. It's a horrible picture of me, Hailey took it, but here is the latest!
I know, I am a freak of nature and super low, and nobody sees how I can possibly grow any larger, but I will. I had a Dr. appt. this morning, and she is head down and in position. I am right on track Iguess and will be at the Dr. office weekly now to be "checked". Sounds fun, I am so not ready for this!!! This was the fastest pregnancy in the history of pregnancies!! I can't believe it's almost over already!

First of all these two pictures are totally true to their personalities. I call this one, Vampire Bid, because McKenzie's nickname is Biddy. The other one I named Hello Kitty Hailey. She was wearing head to toe Hello Kitty that day.
So we moved right after Christmas, which I blogged about already, but since then Hailey hates school and church and anything else that doesn't involve me or her dad. We left her in the same school as to not disrupt her life too much, but ever since Christmas break and the move, she cries all the time while getting ready for school and after she gets there. I am now volunteering in her classroom like 4 days a week to lessen some of the tears, but she is still hating school. What is the deal??? What can I do??? I tried putting a small picture of our family in her pocket and we all kissed it and put all our love inside, and I put it in her pocket so if she misses me or feels like she wants to cry, she can open it up and see us. It worked a tiny bit, but the problem is still very much there. I need help, suggestions, anything. I don't want to homeschool this kid!

So I don't have much to report to the world who reads the Petersen Blog, we moved, again. I don't want to talk about it. We did this right after we cleaned up wrapping paper on Christmas morning practically, so I have no idea what happened to the last few weeks, they are an udder and total blur! I have less than 7 weeks to go before I have another little girl around here! I can't believe it. So I always tell people that I long for the day when our kids are old enough to leave home alone and babysit one another. McKenzie asks to stay home alone all the time while I pick Hailey up from school and promises not to get scared. I obviously won't let her, but it's a nice thought. Well we are no where close to being able to leave them home alone yet, but last night, I was a bit spoiled and had a glimpse into the future of what it will be like to have some older children! Shon and I set up our very fake Christmas tree, and then just got out two boxes of ornaments. The girls did it all!! They opened every ornament box alone and put them on the tree alone! WE literally sat on the couch and watched. It was glorious. WE only had to add some to the top for the last 15 min. or so! Hailey was great at spreading the decor around, McKenzie needed some direction. She would put about 3 ornaments on one branch if I let her. It was wonderful, all the beauty, none of the work! Arizona Trip . . .

We packed up for a long weekend in Arizona this past Friday. Took the kids to the Grand Canyon and to the Polar Express train in Williams. It was fun and unusual to be cold! Hailey kept calling the Grand Canyon a Hole. She kept wanting to go look at the big hole and acted as our tour guide.

So I didn't have any adorable pictures of my children and haven't done anything exciting except for work in the last few weeks, but thought I would post something anyway since it has been a little while. This is where we are headed this weekend:Yup, the Grand Canyon. We are just doing a quick trip with my whole family and I can't wait to get outta this zip code! We will only be gone from Fri. to Sunday, but I can't believe Shon and I both don't have to work! We are taking the kids to the Polar Express train ride on Saturday, which should be so much fun and get us in the mood for Christmas. I could use some stinkin Christmas cheer right about now.
Other than our big 2 day vacation that we are taking in 2 years, and possibly many more, I am growing. People can't believe I am only 6 months pregnant and ask often if I am having twins at work. This lady came in last night asking me for nursing bras, she was exactly the same size as me, height, tummy and all, but when I asked her when she is due, she said 4 weeks, to that I had to reply 3 1/3 months!!! Not cool, I am a petite girl, but apparently have the uterus of a woman about to give birth! Which reminds me, I should upload a new pic soon. Enjoy your week everyone!

Life has stayed pretty much the same for the Petersen's! We are finally getting used to the idea of another girl in our house. I think after having two girls already and going through every little girl name the first two times, we have exhausted all girl names we can agree on. So we may just name her GIRL 3. Or 3 for short. So the girls are doing great, Hailey still loves school and McKenzie still very much enjoys her "alone time" while her sister is getting an education. When Hailey gets home, she tries to teach her things and it's cute.

I am growing, but feeling good. I wish I didn't have to work pregnant. Finding proper work attire and standing on my feet for hours on end is getting old. Here are a few pics of the October happenings around here.

It's a third baby GIRL for the Petersen family. I thought for sure we were going to have a boy finally. Crazy, I made the tech check a few times to make sure and it is indeed another girl for us. Hailey is a little upset, she wanted a brother. McKenzie could care less about any of this. Makes it easy on the parents to welcome another girl to the group, but the thought of us doing 3 weddings one day has me nervous. Wish us luck!

So, I get to request 1 Saturday off a month because Shon is in school 8 hours for one Sat. a month. So, it's nice to have a Sat. off, but too bad my whole family can't be together for it. My family was headed for the beach, so I decided to pack up the girls for our last beach trip of the summer! It was the most gorgeous day ever down there. Wonderful weather! So, Shon and I have switched schedules starting this week. He is back on days, which he is loving and I am back to workin nights in retail! Not so glamorous, but it works. I am happy for him though. He may finally get some sleep, and I get the pleasure of taking my beautiful daughter to and from school everyday! I love hearing all about her "friends" and what she learned.

McKenzie is cute when we take Hailey to school. She is great and well behaved. It's wonderful to not have to break up a fight every 5 minutes. But about 1 hour after dropping Hailey off, McKenzie was ready to go pick her up today.

Ramblings

So after the girls had a bath tonight, I decided to braid McKenzie's very wild, very unruley hair. It's pretty short normally because it's in such tight ringlets. This sheds a whole new light on her noggin. She actually has some pretty long hair when it's forced down. She is cute and the biggest stinker I know.

This is also the new bed we have been so lucky to aquire. The house we are in now is much smaller with tiny rooms. I call it the doll house. With our expanding family, we are trying to think of space savers since the new baby won't exactly have a room to call home. So this bed is great and adorable. The only problem is that Hailey wanted us to close the drawer with poor little sleeping McKenzie in it.

Otherwise, life is pretty good, I still look forward to one day being able to be a stay at home mom again. Everytime I have a day off and I play with my girls or read books to them, I rememeber how great I had it when I wasn't required to work.

After Labor day Shon will go back to working days and I will go back to nights. We will still be two ships passing in the night, but at least Shon won't be up all night at work, then up with kids in the morning. (me working nights doesn't require me to be gone all night) So I am expecting a less grumpy husband who gets all of Hailey's homework done etc!

So we survived our first week of Kindergarten around here. Luckily Hailey LOVES school and can't wait to go back everyday. She was kinda bummed out today is Fri. and she can't go to school tomorrow. I love it, and I get so excited to hear all about her day and the things she is learning. I think she has a leg up and will learn to read pretty soon! She already knew and recognized the whole alphabet going in and now it's amazing to me the things she comes home and knows. I have to admit, I am relieved to not have to run her to school and make lunch for the weekend though! Being a working mom is tough! I don't know how you all do it. I have been working almost year now and while the time flew by, I am dreading another holiday season in retail!!!

On a lighter note, most of you already know this tidbit, but for those of you who don't, I am manufacturing a small human inside me right now, which is adding to the stress and workload. Haven't been too sick at all, but sooo tired. Here is the little maniac below.

This was a big unexpected surprise, and we are warming up to the idea of starting OVER with the bottles and diapers. (I think Shon and I are too old for this.)

Oh my goodness! Hailey had her first day of Kindergarten today and she was so excited it was unbelievable! She was ready to go with her backpack on, by the front door 2 hours before school started. She did so well and acted like she has been going to school for years. Said goodbye and when I picked her up, she said I wish I could go back there tomorrow. I said I have great news, you will be going back there for a very long time! I sure hope this enthusiasm for learning and school stick!

First of all this enormous black widow spider was hanging out in the girls playhouse outside last week and thought it would creep you all out as much as it did me!
Second of all, I don't know where this place is, but I wish I was there right now and for the next 2 weeks! I was so spoiled up until a few years ago. I used to go to Hawaii every year and take vacations and be carefree. I miss it. That is all.

So I have no earth shattering news, but I did have today off and was doing some much needed net surfing, so I thought I would blog a bit. I spent last weeks days off sick, so today, I took Hailey over to her new Elementary School. She starts Kindergarten on the 18th and I am freaking out. She is so excited and doesn't understand why she can't go right now. We toured her new classroom, and the playground and the library. It was neat.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am not easily excited or shaken or emotional for that matter. Nothing really bothers me at all. But surprisingly, Hailey starting Kindergarten bothers me! I just don't feel ready. I hate not knowing what her little brain is being filled with every second of the day and not being that "filter" for her. She is such a smart little sponge and I no longer get to dictate what she is told and taught. I guess it's a control thing. I am sure she will do great as she embarks on this new chapter in her life. On the other hand, McKenzie got a little jealous and decided she too wants to go to school. She has been doing great peeing in the toilet, but she has yet to go number 2. Which as you can imagine, having an accident like that in underwear is a nightmare! She remains in pull ups. I told her when she masters that, she can go to school! She is a joy and the funniest kid I know.

I am starving, and my husband leaves for work before 4 everyday, so I never get dinner anymore. Cereal and I have been best friends lately. Peace Out.

Summer Days

I know, we are spoiled by living about 1 hour from the beaches of California, but I think my girls are finally bored of the beach. We have gone 3 times in the last 12 days. They are no longer impressed. But today at the beach, we did have a break through!! Hailey finally went down to the water. I couldn't believe it. She has always been scared to do it, and today we went down a few times to get wet. She is so brave! She also escaped without a sunburn, which is crazy. She is the fairest of them all!

So the Petersen's headed to the beach on Tuesday. I finally had a day off with Shon, we usually work completely opposite. I got home today and he left 5 min. later, and my first day off is usually the day he heads back to work! So we both had Tuesday off and thought we should head to the beach to beat the heat. It didn't work. It was hot there too, but at least we had the ocean to cool off with!

So I posted some Pictures of McKenzie when it was her birthday and here is my tribute to Punkin! If anyone knows Hailey personally they know she is one of the sweetest kids. She is caring and giving and a people pleaser. She is so good with her little sister, even when McKenzie is mean and hits her. She loves crafts and doing art things. Pretty good little artist too. She sings and is the smartest little girl. From a very young age, she would use these big words and use them correctly. We are so blessed to have Hailey in our family. She is a true joy.

So we finally made it to the beach this weekend! I was so excited to go. First of all, it was my first entire weekend off since I started working! I had a 3 day weekend, which is un heard of unless you request it. So we took full advantage and took our little family to the beach. We then celebrated my sweet (old) husband's birthday. He is only 4 years older than me, but when I say the number 35, and I still think I am in my early 20's, it just sounds so old!!! Here are some pics.

So, since my last post, we have pretty much gotten moved into our new home. (not so much new as it is 20 yrs old) It's been so crazy to move during such a busy and crazy work schedule that Shon and I have been keeping! Last week, we hardly even had a conversation. I am working days, and he is working nights. Me being on days has led to many more hours, which is bitter sweet. Shon hates his new schedule and I feel for him. He gets home around 4:30 am, I am gone to work before he wakes up. The girls get bored with whatever I set them up to do before I left around 9:30 to 10 am, so then Shon is up taking care of them. I get home about 10-20 min. before he has to leave again! And this week is even worse! I get to work 8 days straight with no days off. I am not looking forward to that. And for even more fun, my last day off was spent at Jury Duty! So here are a few pics of some fun in the backyard today and yesterday.

So my little Punkin graduated from Pre-School on Friday. I can't believe it! She was so cute in her cap and gown and the program that was put on by all the kids was great. Very patriotic.

I have the first Sunday off in months tomorrow. I am not sure what to do with a day that is just for rest and staying home. We have been in our new house for a week now and have yet to spend one evening here on the couch yet. Hectic work schedules and being over at the old house to remove our personal belongings that seem to have multiplied. I mopped myself out of the front door today and am finally done taking loads home from there. Although, Shon still has to go and remove tons of trash bags tomorrow! I will miss the space that home provided. I will probably never live in a home that big ever again.

New Digs

I snapped this picture on my phone while I was coming home from the store. So we moved!! We aren't totally done and out of the other house yet. I hate moving! I don't know why we do it so often. I hope to stay here for a few years. We are back to Menifee, which is funny because it's where I grew up and went to Kindergarten through 8th grade! My cute little Hailey is registered to go to Kindergarten in Menifee now. What a trip. Wouldn't it be crazy if she got some of the same teachers!?? Any who, the new house is nice, a bit smaller than we are used to, but right near a lake and a Super Target, who could ask for anything more? The best thing about this house is the backyard. We love it, no pool, but landscaped very nice and tropical.
Work is busy as usual. About 3 days before our move, Shon was changed to working nights at his job! So we scurried around like little mice trying to find time to move everything and I had to change my hours at work to working days so somebody is here with the kids! (I don't trust Hailey to change McKenzie's diapers!) We are managing though. More when I can find my USB cable . . . and my socks for that matter!

Moving Sucks

So we are moving . . . again. Don't get me wrong, we are excited, but seriously! We have lived in 5 homes since we got married! We are headed to number 6 in Menifee. I made sure we can't leave next year, so we signed a 2 yr lease!
Now we are trying to pack, but are only moving about 2 fwy exits north. We get our keys next week and will try just taking loads over of the little stuff. Other than that, we are doing well. Hailey is almost done with Preschool! She has lost a tooth and is well on her way to losing another. McKenzie continues the fight against potty training. She is naughty and so different from her sister! Shon and I are still ships passing in the night, he gets home from work, and I leave for work, but it's working out so far. We are thankful to have jobs! I have no pictures, I actually haven't taken any in weeks, but don't worry, the girls are still cute.

So I turned 31 a few days ago! I can't believe it. This was my gift to myself and Shon got to benefit as well. Verizon was doing the Buy one blackberry and you get one free, plus it was time for my upgrade and I got 100 bucks off the phone. A deal that could not be passed up! I must say, I love this phone. It is so awesome and so nice to have during my breaks at work!

I also had a decent Mother's Day as well. I didn't have much time to reflect on how wonderful being a mother is and the joys of Motherhood, but I did wake up to a huge, beautiful breakfast in bed from my adoring husband. At least he appreciates me!! He made pancakes, blueberries, strawberries, bacon, eggs, and a chocolate doughnut!! It was so nice, then at church, the men took over nursery, so I got to actually go to class and enjoy some spirituality! What a change! Then, the dream day all ended at 2:45 when I trotted off to work!! That part wasn't so fun, but it did make me grateful I have a job still! I hope all you wonderful Mother's had a wonderful day!

So, three years ago today, my wonderful Iddy Biddy was born! Wow, things have never been the same. She is the sweetest girl, and the Tazmanian Devil all rolled into one! What a personality this kid has. She loves her big sister though, like you wouldn't believe, loves taking loooong baths, and her very favorite thing in the entire world is Apple Juice. If I had a penny for every time this kid said the word juice, Shon and I could both quit our jobs!!!!!! She brings so much joy to our family and is quite funny actually. Here is to you, Bid! (McKenzie). I wonder if her nickname will still be Bid when she is 16?????

So last weekend, we decided that since we didn't get a vacation last year and won't again this year, we are going on an overnighter! I never get both Fri. and Sat. off, but I did last weekend, so we originally wanted to go camping, but couldn't find an available campsite for both nights, just Friday night. Seemed kinda silly setting up tents and camp for a one night stay, so we got a nice hotel room right on the Harbor and played in San Diego all day Sat. We had so much fun relaxing and forgetting everything else! The girls loved the hotel room and having a slumber party with mommy and daddy. The weather could not have been more beautiful!

So lately I am in love with Hot Tamales. I eat boxes of them, over and over again. It's odd, I love them, but I don't love Cinnamon gum? I found myself filling my pockets with them before going to work. It's like my new gum, only it takes so many more to always keep one in my mouth! My husband just told me I am going to rot my teeth and mouth because of the acid, I sure hope that isn't true!

I took this one of McKenzie on the swings at the park. We were there for 2 hours the other day, most of which McKenzie wanted to go Higher and faster on the swings!

Shon has been making rocking horses and is very good at it. His dad used to make these and sell them and he has been wanting to this for a long, long time. He and his sister Brook have finally started doing it! Just this weekend they completed this beautiful unicorn. Any who, they are selling these wonderful, sturdy, handcrafted horses! So I guess I have been a little busy with work, shaping and molding the minds of two young girls, and filling out the 100 page packet for Hailey to start Kindergarten!! Oh yes, and reserching my little heart out for a used car! Why are there so many people trying to commit fraud on the internet pretending to sell their car! I came across 4 in my 2 days of looking for something to buy!

So Hailey decided she needed a haircut the other day. We attempted to go shorter a few months ago, but her hair was always sooo long, that we kept it below her shoulders. Well, her dad needed a haircut as well, so Daddy/daughter date was to Supercuts! They did pretty good. On the same day, I took Cooper to the groomers for some TLC, and he smelled wonderful for about 1 day! He is so very handsome though.

So we moved McKenzie to a toddler bed a few weeks ago, and I never posted any pictures about it! I guess life gets in the way. We have delayed this for soooo long. Hailey was in a toddler bed at 18 months, because we were expecting McKenzie at the time, but Hailey was born a grown up so she doesn't count. We were terrified of moving McKenzie because her personality is so different, we thought she would never stay in bed if she wasn't confined to a crib. Well, she will be 3 at the end of April, so we thought we would try it out. She loves it first of all, but I think it's the freedom she loves. She can come and go even if it's 3 am! She comes in an announces MORNINGTIME! It's cute. We have had some problems of her getting up in the night only to come in and say it's too dark and she can't find her blanket, but we take her right back to bed and she stays put usually. I am thinking of moving the girls beds in the same room and turning the other room into a playroom. I wonder if that will help???
