Happy Holidays!

So we made it through the Christmas celebrations! It was fun, except both girls came down with a cold Christmas Eve morning. Then two days after Christmas, McKenzie got Pink Eye! It's been tons of fun. Shon has passed oral interviews and a test to get into this program, so he will hopefully be working by mid January. YEA. My work has been so busy, as you can imagine. I am just trying to soak up all the hours, before they get cut drastically after the Holidays. So we are still here and breathing. We have added a new tricyle, and cool bake oven and some Barbies to the mix. Here are a few pics.

My Cute Girls . . .

So a few things have happened. We chopped off more of Hailey's hair. She finally wanted to because she said she rather have short hair than get her hair brushed. She hates that. We also made a trip up to my Aunt Donna's to see the famous Christmas lights near her house. These people go all out, it's cool. It's a living Christmas Vacation neighborhood, but done very tastefully. The Rocking Horse in the picture of McKenzie, Shon made. Yep, he made it. His dad used to make these and he got the bug and actually made 2 now.

Seriously? Do I need to say anything else??

It's rare to find a picture of this guy that looks great. He is either easy on the eyes, or I am almost embarrassed for him. I dig this one though.

Sea World . . .

Don't you just love Free passes to parks. My grandmother gave us Sea World passes for this next year, so we took advantage and took the girls on a Monday when nobody else was there. We had so much fun.

Another Day at Disney

We are lucky enough to be within an hour from Disneyland and have passes, so this is about the 6th or 7th time we have been this year. The girls love it so much and never get tired of it. Here are a few pictures.

A little updating . . .

So, even before Thanksgiving, we happened to be at the mall and Santa was there. McKenzie, of course wouldn't even go near the gated area where Santa sat, but Hailey couldn't wait to go sit on his lap and tell him everything she wanted for Christmas!

This was Hailey's pre-school Thanksgiving Day Feast. This is the first time I remembered to take pictures at one of her Pre-school activities!! They sang some cute songs and answered questions about Thanksgiving and we had an actual Thanksgiving dinner afterward. It was fun!

A singing Hailey

This is the song Hailey sang with the rest of the Sunbeams in her very first Primary Program last Sunday. I caught this on tape for you all, Enjoy!

So I guess I have been so busy working these last few weeks, I didn't realize it's NOVEMBER. We all know what happens Nov. 21st and I couldn't be more excited. I know all the tiny little teenagers will be crowding the movie theaters, but they have to have a curfew, right??? One advantage to being a Twilight fan and 30!! So here are a few things I am sooo looking forward to this month:
~Twilight of course
~Thanksgiving
~Cold weather
~Days off from both jobs (I love these days the most)
~Shon working again
~Hot Cocoa
~Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving)
~Paychecks
~Christmas music (usually coming the weekend after Thanksgiving!)
Have a great November everyone!

Trick or Treat

So here are just a few pictures of Halloween night. Shon took tons of pictures and video for me since I had to work. They sure looked cute knocking doors! Hailey's aunt Brook made this Strawberry Shortcake costume for one of her girls years ago, and Hailey saw it a few months back and ever since she wanted to be Strawberry Shortcake for Halloween. McKenzie was Snow White, and couldn't make up her mind on that! She changed her mind about her costume about 3 times the day off. Luckily we have lots of fun Dress up clothes for her to choose from! They had a blast and got lots of candy!

The Petersen's Carve a Pumpkin

So, last year we (Shon) carved a fantastic Darth Vader, but this year Hailey really wanted a Princess Castle. How could we say no to that. Shon drew it on and we all took turns carving. Turned out great of course. We had fun too. Here are the pictures!

So this is the little house Shon built for the girls in Hailey's room. It was made out of those rubber tiles that make for a soft flooring. They are sure enjoying spending all this extra time with Daddy! The last picture was the one and only cold day we had here in California in the last 30 days. I can't believe it's almost November and it's like 90 degrees outside! I have the next 2 days off, so I am very happy! I do have to work on Halloween though, : ( The joys of working retail! I don't have to be in until 6:30, so I guess that gives me time to get the girls all dressed up and snap a few pictures, before they head off to Trick or Treat without me. Hailey is very excited to be Strawberry Shortcake and borrowed a costume from her cousins. Brook of course made it and it's beautiful! She has already tried it on and wanted a photo shoot. McKenzie will be one of the 5-6 costumes we already have. I don't expect her to stay in it long anyway.

Pumpkin Patch

So after a long day at work on Saturday, we took the girls to the Pumpkin patch. Here are a few pictures. We picked out a very large Pumpkin and the girls are looking forward to Daddy carving it. We ended the night getting lost in a large Corn maze! It was fun, I look tired, but it was fun.

At Home . . .

Me workin this week at my old office. Tonight is my first night home in a few nights, it's been nice relaxing and sitting on the couch!! Oh, and seeing my two girls! I am also on my laptop and was going through old pics, I thought I would post this one from exactly two yrs ago, when I chopped off all my hair and donated it. It took so long getting used to, but finally 2 yrs later, I can look at these and think, it wasn't soooo bad. I wasn't a fan of it at the time though!

So, I have no pictures to upload, I am currently updating this sitting at my old desk in my old office. I am getting a taste for the working mom. I used to work at Allstate insurance for about 7 years of my life, it was truly my home away from home. I have filled in since having Hailey when people are out on vacations etc. So I am working here all week, while two people are out. I got a part time job at Kohl's. Its hard work, but the discounts are worth it. I am learning the ropes over there working nights. I can't wait till this week at Allstate is over, it's rough having two jobs, and two kids. Shon has been wonderful filling in where mommy can't be. He sends videos to my phone several times a day of the girls being silly. It's sweet, thanks Shon! Life continues to be crazy and fun, just thought I would give a little update while taking a break at the office!

Our Beach trip

So on Wednesday our little family took a quick trip to the beach. It was such a warm day and I think Shon and I expected to feel the cool ocean breeze, but it was dang hot! I guess it was better than sweating at home though! It was wonderful, the beach was pretty empty, being Oct. 1st, and the middle of the school week! Here are some photos.

Updating . . .

I didn't have any new pics to upload but this one. McKenzie fell asleep on the couch the other day waiting for me to get home from the store. (Shon was with her, I didn't leave her alone!) So there isn't a whole lot to blog about, which is why I haven't.
We have just been busy with everyday trials that life brings. The girls are great, Hailey loves Pre school, and gave the scripture and prayer in Primary yesterday. It was cute. I was just called to Nursery of course, where I have spent all of last year, and Shon was called to be the 11 yr. old Scout leader. Enjoy your week everyone!

The Haircut!

So we finally talked Hailey into getting her hair cut. She has resisted for a long time, saying she wanted hair like Sleeping Beauty, and wanted to keep it long. It took about 3 months, but I convinced her she could cut her hair and still have it long. She has a hard time letting me brush her hair, and I thought if it was a bit shorter, it might be easier on both of us! Here are some before and afters. She did great, sat in the Barbie car at the salon and got her nails painted! Some of the odd colored pictures were taken with my cell phone.
